A chartered mechanical engineer, David started his working life in the steel industry as a hydraulic engineer responsible for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of systems for British Steel Stainless. This was followed by two years as a mechanical engineer responsible for the maintenance of the cold rolling mills in Sheffield.
David joined Mobil in 1996 and has held numerous technical positions covering many industries from cornflakes to cement, power to pharmaceuticals, followed by six years commercially and technically managing landfill gas-fuelled reciprocating engines. He then spent nine years in international marine lubricants as the Chief Engineer for the UK, Cyprus, and the Middle East providing technical support to key customers.
David recently returned to the UK as the Senior Field Engineer coordinating engineering services for gas engine customers.

Peter Bird is the Field Marketing Manager for ExxonMobil Lubricants in the UK, France and Iberia. He has been in the oil industry since 1986 after graduating in Chemistry from the University of Bristol. Peter started as a chemist developing fuels, lubricants and chemicals including assignments in Paris and Brussels. For the past 15 years, he has been involved in Industrial Lubricants marketing for EAME and most recently in a global training role.

Ralf holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the University of Applied Science at Mannheim. Joining BASF SE in 1990 as an Operating Engineer for application and development laboratories, he has since gathered experience in various roles. Whilst being responsible for the development of engine coolants, Ralf has carried out numerous OEM fluid approval projects. Today he is Senior Technical Service Manager for Europe and Emerging markets, actively working on product approvals with various OEMS for engine coolant Glysantin and brake fluid Hydraulan.

John is a Chartered Engineer with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester and over 40 years’ experience in the power industry. Leaving BP in 2013 he developed his own consultancy business, providing expert engineering consultancy services predominantly in tribology and lubrication, where he is currently a Director. John has worked with IDGTE for over 20 years in a number of roles including Council Member, Trustee, President and Honorary Secretary. He is currently a Trustee and Head of Membership.

Steve served as a formal engineering apprenticeship with Rolls Royce way back in 1988 and have since had various roles in engineering and engineering sales. He has been managing the Gas Filtration / Engine Management stream of CC Jensen Ltd UK business for four years now. This mainly consists of supplying and overseeing the installation of Carbon Filtration system for Gas Engines in the Water Industry and Landfill Applications as well as improved oil filtration extending the life of the oil.
Blaine is a sales engineer at Clarke Energy with 10 years’ experience in the gas and diesel power generation industry.
Liam has 30 years’ experience in the Process industry with involvement in all aspects of the project cycle, from enquiry through to commissioning.

Nathan has more than 16 years’ experience in managing Combined Heat and Power systems and associated equipment. Having worked with a variety of engine builders and equipment types, in different sectors, Nathan is now responsible for the effective running of 4 Jenbacher Type 6 engines, which produce the heat, power and CO2 needed for the operations at Tangmere Nurseries – the UK’s largest grower of capsicum peppers.
